Full Stack Developer - AXIS OS Release tools

As a Full Stack Developer in our AXIS OS Release Tools team in Lund, you will develop and optimize the automation systems that enable reliable releases of AXIS OS to over 200 products worldwide. Meet Your Future Team You will join the Release Tools team, a focused, autonomous group of five engineers. Your team is part of the larger R&D Tools team - a Platform Engineering team of 32 - and you are responsible for the evolution of the release pipeline. This involves tackling challenges in release automation, improving the security of our software supply chain, and creating tools that give clear insight into the status of every release. In particular, the team has recently initiated a major restructuring of the entire release toolchain, moving from loosely coupled scripts to a new, comprehensive service called Maestro. This greenfield development aims to provide a unified interface for visualizing the state of all products, artifacts, and test executions, eliminating current automation gaps and manual processes. As a team, we own our backlog and roadmap, which we develop in close collaboration with other R&D Tools teams. The Release Tools team is a pragmatic team with a focus on solving problems and sharing information. Team discussions are open and inviting where everyone's opinion matters. Together, R&D Tools supports AXIS OS developers by offering an Internal Developer Platform (IDP) that handles the entire build, CI/CD, and release pipeline for our Linux-based AXIS OS that is used on more than 200 Axis products. The IDP is built with a mix of open-source software, internally developed tools, and commercial solutions. What You will Do Here You will have a hands-on role in the Release Tools team, focusing on developing, improving, and maintaining our release pipelines. This involves close collaboration with other sub-teams to integrate different parts of the overall pipeline for AXIS OS, as well as working directly with its developers to understand their needs and pain points. You will use a data-driven approach to gain insights into our services and continuously drive improvements. Cybersecurity and supply chain security are important, and you will be actively involved in enhancing these areas while also helping to plan the future evolution of our release tools. Optimizing our services will also require collaboration with IT infrastructure and operations. As a Full Stack Developer in our Release Tools team, you will: * Actively contribute to the design and development of Maestro, our new greenfield service for unifying the AXIS OS release toolchain. * Design and develop backend services and APIs that power release automation, along with frontend dashboards for visualizing release status and workflows. * Take full DevSecOps responsibility for the tools and services within the release pipeline. * Collaborate with stakeholders across Product Management, Security, and other teams to gather requirements and align on priorities. * Improve our metrics and logging frameworks. * Continuously improve the quality of existing code while writing clear, well-tested, and maintainable software. We value experience in the following areas: * A few years of experience as a full stack developer. * Familiarity with languages such as TypeScript, Go, and Python. * Practical experience using Docker. * Experience deploying and hosting services in a Kubernetes environment. * Working with continuous integration and continuous deployment pipelines (GitHub Actions). Bonus points for: * Experience using metrics to monitor and improve system performance with tools like Elastic/Logstash/Kibana, Datadog, and Icinga. * Experience with vulnerability scanning tools and methodologies. * Familiarity with compliance frameworks and security standards relevant to software development and release pipelines.
